Lessons from Sabey

Well, I'm still trying to figure out how to upload pictures on my blog so please be patient. I will post more pics of Holli's wedding day soon.
In the meantime, I'm excited to be able to spend some time with my dear friend Sabey. She drove down from Moscow Idaho to attend Erin's wedding. Sabey and I go back a long ways, probably about 15 years or so. They moved into our ward here in Ogden and eventually Sabey and I ended up working together in Young Women's. We became fast friends and have been so ever since. We've been through all kinds of things together...kids growing up, PTA, church callings, Sabey's mom having Alzheimers and the challenges that presents, my extended family issues, Sabey's mom passing away, Erin living with Sabey's dad and taking care of him for 3 years before his death, kids going off to college, missions and adventures. Now we both face the empty nest syndrome together and I'm so blessed to have a friend who understands this concept. We never seem to run out of things to talk about. These are some of the valuable lessons Sabey has taught me: give your kids the boot when they're 18, they'll thank you for it later, teach your kids to work (she calls her the slaves) LOL, stay close to the Lord, make time for your spouse, go on trips if you can and so much more. Thanks to Sabey's encouragement we now have 1 college graduate (nurse), 1 almost college graduate (1 year) and two more college freshman and one who promises to get back into school soon!
I have been blessed with so many wonderful friends through the years and I count Sabey among them. Love ya Sabe!
